baby it's cold outside

When winter rolls around, I don't know about you, but I turn into this little homebody that will find any excuse not to leave my place. So if you're like me who likes to hibernate during the winter, you might as well make it as decadent as possible. Stay inside with these pretty ballerina inspired essentials. I love all the soft blush pink touches to make you feel ultra feminine whether you are having a night in for yourself or snuggling up with someone you love! xo

winter pastels

Winter pastels are the perfect way to lighten up and brighten up a boring January day.
Add some fur and sparkly shoes and you can kiss your seasonal affective disorder goodbye!
Ps. I just LOVE how versatile these peachy pink jeans are.
See other ways I styled them here, here and here.

winter staples: there's still lots of winter left to live.

Even though our winter so far has been mild {knock on wood} I have to keep reminding myself that it's still only January and there's still so much winter left to live. I remember having a snow storm the day before the St Patty's Day parade in Hoboken a few years back. So let's get realistic here.
Even if it is too early to get pumped up for spring goodies - we can have a little fun adding some essential winter staples to our wardrobe. Here are my choices for items every girl needs in her winter closet:
winter days

1. A classic coat - in black or camel to match everything.
I especially like this one with the hood and toggle closures.
2. A plaid shirt.
Seriously, they go with everything.
3. A warm and cozy sweater.
Anything Fair Isle print is so in right now.
4. A great leather bag.
This one in particular is one I have my eye on for the next big purchase!
5. A chunky men's style watch.
Love the dark accents on this one.
6. Weather proof boots.
Even though we may be in the middle of a storm, it's no reason to look like a schlep-rock (that's a term I picked up from D! haha)

ombre sparkles & polka dots.

I don't think sequins are meant only for special occasions and evenings. Nope, I think you should wear them during the day running errands, to work -- you get the deal! You might not be able to tell, but the sparkly tank I'm wearing has a subtle ombre effect (which the pictures don't really capture) but show a lovely faded lavender palette. Add some polka dots and a leather jacket -- and you've got yourself an outfit my friends!
 Outfit Details
Leather jacket: gift from D // Sparkle tank: Express // Polka dot blouse: Old Navy
Jeans: Target // Heels: Nine West // Bag: Louis Vuitton
Would you wear sparkles during the day?
