A few weeks ago D came home with a ginormous (yes it is a word) palette because he knew I was interested in putting together some kind of palette project for our apartment. I've been finding so many cool ideas on Pinterest I just don't know what to do. I just love the old rustic look palettes can give a room so I'm excited to create something new. Here are a few ideas that I was interested in:
This is the closest thing to what our untouched palette looks like now. We would just have to remove a few pieces of wood - but the natural, distressed look would be similar.
Love the photo collage too!
Here's another simialar one -- except this one the wood is stained -- thoughts?
I could break it up and make mini shelves for picture frames.
Love this idea of using clothes pins -- plus this gives the options of changing pictures as your mood changes! I like the stenciling on the top too!
This is another awesome idea using glass mason jars to hold bathroom items like cotton balls and q-tips.
Cool wine holder -- perhaps in the kitchen?
And I just "love" the simplicity of the wooden pieces together with a painted sentiment. WOuld be a great piece for the living room over the couch, or over the bed in the bedroom.
So help me, which one do you like best? What should I make??

Hmmm, tough decision. I guess it depends where you have an open spot and where you really want to add some character. My first thought is the last picture is the most elegant, but the first picture is pretty functional. I vote for one of those. :-) Can't wait to see what you come up with!

I like the last two the best! I also really like the idea of using a palatte to make furniture like a coffee table as well!
ReplyDeletebut I could have done those without getting a true palette. We could have just got the wood-haha. Hope your well!!
DeleteI do volunteer work at a charity that make things from old pallets - this post might give us some ideas of what we could make next!

I like the second version the best - the stain gives it just a bit more polish.
