Just checked another thing off my Summer Bucket List. For those of you not from Pennsylvania or have never been to the Pocono Mountains, Bushkill Falls is known as the Niagara of Pennsylvania. Well I don't know if I would go that far, but I have to say the water falls were truly beautiful! I can't believe it's taken me 28 years to visit a local attraction I grew up with -- but better late than never right?
Didn't realize until now that we might have a fear of heights!
If you look closely you can see a rainbow over the waterfall.
Hiked down a little farther.
After about 4892058922546 stairs we finally made it to the bottom!
Wishing I was in a tank top and yoga pants right about now.
Completely regretting my choice in outfit for hiking.
Outfit Details:
Crocheted Top: Old Navy // Hat: Gap
Just gorgeous!
The wooden bridges and stairs we had to follow.
D mentioned he felt like we were in the Ewok village from Star Wars!
I have to agree - it definitely felt like we were miles away from everything in a different world.
taking a break to rest our feet.
Once we made it back to the main area, there was a blue grass band playing.
So we stopped to visit, and indulge in ice cream.
Afterwards, we hit up the little gift shop/country store where they had all kinds of homemade and local goodies.
This wild huckleberry chocolate intrigued me. What exactly is a huckleberry?
And I wanted to get this locally made wild huckleberry honey - which I think would be perfect and so yummy in my green tea, but for $10 I had to pass.
After a gorgeous day of being outdoors, we really couldn't "bear" to leave : )
Even though I thought I looked cute, I really should have dressed more accordingly. Has anyone else regretted their outfit choices and realized it wasn't practical at all for what you were doing??

Beautiful scenery! Down here in Houston, TX we don't have anything like that! P.S. Your tennis shoes are cute!
ReplyDeleteMmmmm! I LOVE huckleberry! So yummy! And what a gorgeous view!
ReplyDeleteI had always wanted to go there and last summer the bf and I went since it's close to us too. It was a really hot day but it was after a storm and the waterfalls were really flowing and looked beautiful. The main one had so many rainbows. We hiked all the trails to see all the falls and it was such a great day. There's a National Park waterfall site a bit north of there with another great fall, that I liked even more. Great post!

ReplyDeleteLove the photos, I have been enjoying your summer bucket list posts so much! And I can relate on the outfit thing -- we went to a state park over the weekend and I wore open toe flat sandals...I totally should have worn tennis shoes, much more practical!

Looks like so much fun! I am a huge huckleberry fan. I used to live in Washington and they are a bid deal there. Taste some if you ever get the chance, they are so good.

First of all that hat looks so cute on you! I can't pull it off lol. The pictures you took are beautiful and I would love to visit there sometime.
ReplyDeleteAn outfit I regreted was a spring time outfit with fllip-flops i wore one day to school bc it had been getting warmer. But of all days it didn't get quit so warm and I had to park really far from campus. Let's just say my toes were so cold!!
Gorgeous falls! :)
ReplyDeleteI've definitely not dressed right for certain occasions. The last time we went out to the Rocky Mountains I wore shorts that day because it was suppose to be mildly warm. Yeah, it was not mildly warm. I froze!
