Work It, Baby!

As I mentioned before I got a new job so this past week I have been insanely busy trying to get everything organized and ready, learning new co-workers names, new policies and procedures, passwords, commute to work -- well you name it. I apologize if my outfits seem lackluster or boring, but these are the types of outfits I actually wear to work (not ones where I pose for the camera for the sake of blogging). Like real life (sometimes boring) outfits. Where I am working is fairly conservative, so until I get more comfortable with the dress code and what I can and cannot wear -- I'll stick to classic, fail-safe looks and minimal accessories.

 Outfit Details:
Black dress: H&M // Cardigan & Tank: New York & Co // Belt: Old Navy
Watch: Michael Kors // Wedge Heels: Tory Burch

Does anyone else deal with a conservative work place?
How do you show off your personal style at work while remaining professional?

  4. I'm with Olivia. "As long as you look good," is my motto. As long as it's something a little bit more professional than the clientele you are working with, you're fine! And you can't go wrong with always rocking a hot pair of shoes!

  8. Hope the new job is going well! This outfit is perfect for work. Sometimes classic and minimal is the way to go, and I think it's smart to feel out your workplace before going too bold with your outfits. A printed scarf or bright jewelry would be a great way to add some color without being too bold!

  22. My workplace is pretty conservative, but I'm completely cool with color in the office - like bright pencil skirts with a button down. You can't be sent home for wearing color. ;)

  25. I've never worked in a conservative workplace; I've had positions in the creative industry so that makes sense. But it's so smart of you to turn it down until you get familiar; real life often requires these sacrifices! Good luck with everything :)
