Summer Bucket List #21 - Berry Picking

I officially accomplished the first thing off my Summer Bucket List. This past weekend we went strawberry and pea picking. Yes, that's right I said pea picking! I never knew you could pick for peas, and I don't particularly like peas, but I'll always find an excuse to eat fresh fruits and veggies picked straight off the vine. Here are some picture we took from Seiple Farms.
 Mutant strawberry.
The perfect berry.

The sell them for free?  Haha sign FAIL!
just like two peas in a pod <3.

Looks like we'll be eating strawberries for a while....
Later that night we had fresh strawberry shortcakes with homemade shortcakes and whipped cream.
And the past few mornings I've been having my usual breakfast (1 whole wheat waffle topped with peanut butter and bananas) and substituting in fresh strawberries instead. So delish!

Anyone have any good suggestions/recipes for strawberries?

Look of the Day: Masculine + Feminine

Why is it so randomly cold today?? With the weather cooling down a bit near me I thought I'd try out some outfits with jeans and long sleeves while I still could get away with it...
Mixing masculine and feminine pieces here is what I was trying to recreate. I love the look of the traditional masculine pieces {flannel shirt, leather} and mixing in feminine accents {skinny jeans, heels} to create this street chic look.
The first two photos were my inspiration photos {found on Pinterest}
and the one all the way to the right is my recreation of this look.
{Please excuse the messy background and poor photography - I was in a rush out the door!}

Outfit Details
Leather Jacket - Christmas gift from D
flannel shirt - American Eagle (pretty old)
jeans - Express (also very old)
Purse - Coach
Classic Black Heels - Nine West
Necklace - Charlotte Russe

So what are your thoughts on mixing masculine and feminine pieces?
Would you wear this look?

Look of the Day: Summer Brights and Whites

Making this outfit on a hot summery seemed perfect for two reasons.
1. It incorporated only light, airy fabrics for the tank top and shorts
and
2. It mixed brights and whites (which both complement tan skin) and look great in summer
So with that being said I came up with this outfit:
Bright ombre shirt from Old Navy (in stores now and snagged for $12!)
White linen shorts from Old Navy (also in stores now) similar here.
Earrings - gift from D last year (love them!)
Gold Watch from Fossil
Bracelet from Tory Burch
Leopard Sandals from Target found here.
Essie Nail Polish in Tart Deco (my new fav!)

Hope you all have lovely day!

Look of the Day: Easy, Breezy Maxi Dresses

I love maxi dresses! The great thing about them is that they are so flowy and comfortable for spring and summer don't you think? It's practically like you are wearing nothing -- and it's a throw it on and go kinda outfit -- SCORE!

Inspiration photo from Shopbop.com
Karina Grimaldi Biscot Long Tank Dress for $137.20
or

Dress from Target (in stores now) found here. for only $25.
Also comes in pink which is really cute!

Bag from Coach
Watch from Michael Kors
Bracelet from Tory Burch
Necklace from Tiffany and Co.
Wedge Sandals from Target (even though you can't see them) found here.
I wanted to show off some of D's shopping finds too! Plaid shorts and tee from H+M (which by the way has great stuff for guys in my opinion, and for pretty cheap!) I think he looks pretty cute in these shorts, and I know they were a fashion risk for him so I'm glad he ended up liking what I picked out for him! : )

Anyone else have successful (or not so successful) stories about shopping for their man??
I'd love to hear from the other ladies out there!
