Summer Bucket List #9: Movies Under the Stars

I finally checked off another thing off my Summer Bucket List - #9 which is Movies Under the Stars!
It was a beautiful cool night wear all I needed was my jean jacket and some snuggles from my love to keep me warm. We watched the movie Hugo (a Martin Scorsese film) but I have to admit - I usually do more people watching than movie watching ; )
Got there early to pic a good spot.
sushi and edamame. oh yes!
me and D near the water.
being silly.
gorgeous view of the nyc skyline. Freedom Tower <3
10 points to anyone who can guess what movie is on the screen right now?
Mad props if you do!

Fourth of July/Lobster Bake

If I had a huge house of my own (hopefully one day in the future) I would love to entertain ALL THE TIME. And if money were no object I think I could be a pretty good hostess, entertainer and party planner. With that being said, here's what my Fourth of July // LobsterFest would look like.
All images were found on my Pinterest.
Enjoy : )
This was the original inspiration board that got me wanting to throw an annual lobsterfest party.
So why not combine lobsterfest into a July 4th celebration with friends?
What my formal table set-up might look like. Love the star fish!
And here's a more casual table set up.
Love the crab plates and the mini boat filled with ice cold beers.
Cheddar cheese biscuits inspired from Red Lobster. YUM!
Oh Yes!
Lobster wine glass charms. How cute are these?
Especially with lobster inspired words like claw and tail!
I love this Fourth of July wreath for two reasons:
1. It incorporates my love of anything chalkboards.
2. Its made up of those little umbrellas you put in tropical drinks. Fantastic!
And for dessert we have patriotic cupcakes in the design of the American flag.
Love the mix of blueberry, strawberry and coconut topped cupcakes : )
And some red, white chocolate, and blue sugar dipped strawberries...
gorgeous frosted cake.
And of course, no party is complete without a s'more station to use over the open fire.
I just love the presentation here!
And last but not least, some patriotic nails for the hostess with the mostess...
And I'm kinda of LOVING this adorable lobster cashmere sweater.
I would totally wear this to host my July 4th lobsterfest : )

Does anyone have fun planned for this July 4th?

Fourth of July Style.

Fourth of July style means three things: red, white and blue. And with those three colors it's fun to play around with different combinations to express your patriotic side, as well as your personal style.
I wanted to show a few options for some July 4th style -- hope you enjoy!

Outfit Details
Jean jacket: Old Navy // Striped Tank: Old Navy // White Linen Shorts: Old Navy
Necklace: super old // Red Clutch: Express (also super old)
Gold Watch: Fossil // Wedge Sandals: Target (in stores now)
This look I'm using a nautical striped dress (which I also styled casually and dressier here)
and added in a pop of red for color and a white flower for some fun.

Outfit Details #2
Striped Dress: Express (this spring) // Flower Pin: LOFT (last year)
Red Clutch: Express (super old) // Gold Watch: Fossil // Wedge Sandals: Target (in stores now)
With this outfit I originally wanted to wear my white skinny jeans, but since they were in the laundry I dug through my closet and opted for a old favorite - my white Editor pants from Express. I wore these all the time (especially to work) in the past few years before the skinny look was in, and I have to say they are a nice change of pace -- welcome back flares!

Outfit Details #3
Jean jacket: Old Navy // Striped Tank: Old Navy // White Pants: Express
Bubble Necklace: J.Crew // Wedge Sandals: Target (in stores now) // Gold Watch: Fossil

Which fourth of July style is your favorite?
